The Grisly Animated Movie Conclusion That Lingers Fans
Out of all the adult-oriented animated films I have personally viewed, no other has lingered in my mind quite like the terror-laced conclusion of the graphically gory and overwhelingly transgressive 2022 movie Unicorn Wars.
Back in the year 2015, this Spain-based writer-director created a dark, bleak and frequently brutal universe that included a few small , forlorn hints of optimism.
While The Unicorn Wars seems like it stemmed from an impulse to expand animation further, the filmmaker stated that it was more an effort to convey a widespread, cross-cultural message concerning “the common origin of all wars.”
That idea is expressed via a group of colorful pastel bears , openly based on a popular series of cuddly figures.
Being raised in a culture centered on militarism as well as the defense industry, a lot of these animals are fixated on killing unicorns, because of a holy book which states the bears they used to be rulers of the woods, until the unicorns expelled them.
Some did not entirely fallen for the brainwashing, , choose to sample narcotics and engage sexually in the woods.

At the same time, the unicorns are enduring their own horror, through an expanding, deadly beast in their woods.
“At the beginning, it feels like a lighthearted film,” the filmmaker commented. “However it becomes a more serious and melancholic film. And in the finale, it transforms into a terrifying movie.”
Unicorn Wars starts out resembling one of the more playful films by a renowned animator, that uncover a wicked pleasure in letting animated figures curse, fire weapons, or have intimate relations.
Subsequently it becomes more akin to a darker movie by that same creator, including ever more visual gore and a palpable relation to genuine tragedy of war.
Ultimately, it becomes a full-on extreme drama carnage.
The terror which makes the film an ideal spooky-season watch starts a lot earlier than indicated.
The Unicorn Wars is one for the hardcore gorehounds, for enthusiasts of graphic films who want to see something they haven’t ever viewed until now, and who can handle a story that offers no restraint.
Watch it in a dimly lit space free from interruptions, and that ending will burrow into your mind and linger.
