Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.
American entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic television series such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in LA this Monday following cancer treatment since 2022, according to news outlets.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his relatives said in a statement.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
A Notable TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a party host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous hit series, such as:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his television work, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was part of a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired many learners during his career and it would be difficult to find a person who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
Offering condolences, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote online.
Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
